Tiny incisions are made to remove the fat.

Once the fat has been harvested, it is then prepared for injection into the targeted areas on the face. Lines, hollows of the face and depressions are injected with the fat to rejuvenate and recontour those areas. Since some of the fat cells will not survive the procedure, the area may be overfilled to compensate for fat cell losses.

Autologous fat injections can last a very long time. When a blood supply is established with the healthy fat cells, the procedure becomes relatively permanent.
